After your inquiry, we’ll invite you to a personal call where we get to know each other, learn more about your wedding and guide you through the collections and possibilities that make sense for your plans.Afterwards, you’ll receive your personal proposal and access to your booking portal, where you can review everything at your own pace.Your date is officially reserved once the booking confirmation has been signed and the 40% First Payment has been received.From there, we’ll guide you through the entire process leading up to your wedding, from planning and creative preparation to the final timeline.

What does our investment include?

Your wedding photography and film begin long before the wedding day and continue well beyond it. Our work encompasses the entire process, from preparation and communication to creative direction, curation, editing and final delivery.Just as important is the responsibility that comes with documenting something that cannot be repeated. Professional equipment, reliable workflows, multiple stages of data backup and high-quality storage are not optional extras for us, but an essential part of our work.We intentionally take on only a limited number of weddings each year, allowing us to maintain these standards and give every celebration the care and creative attention it deserves.

Question 3

Can our collection be tailored to our wedding?

Absolutely. Our collections are designed to provide a thoughtful foundation, while still leaving room for what makes your celebration individual.Depending on your plans, we can tailor your coverage with additional hours, multiple days, second shooters, extended film coverage, analog formats or other elements that make sense for your wedding.For more complex or multi-day celebrations, we can also create a bespoke proposal around the scale and requirements of your event.During our call, we’ll guide you through the possibilities and recommend what we believe will serve your wedding best.

Question 4

How much time should we plan for photos & video throughout the day?

To create space for everything to unfold naturally, we recommend building enough time and small buffers into your timeline rather than planning every moment back-to-back.For getting ready, around 3 hours works best, especially if you’d like us to include details, flatlays, portraits and the atmosphere surrounding those first hours of the day.For a first look and couple session, around 1 hour usually gives us enough time to create variety across both photo and film without taking you away from your wedding for too long. If locations require walking or driving, please allow additional time for that.Throughout the day, we also need short windows to capture ceremony, dinner and other important settings before guests arrive. For the ceremony, we recommend around 30 minutes before guest arrival. This gives us time to document the untouched setting and take care of the technical setup for photo, film and audio.The same applies to your dinner setting and other carefully designed spaces. Ideally, we photograph and film them before guests enter and the setting begins to change.For group photos, we recommend allowing around 4 minutes per group combination and keeping the list to a maximum of five combinations. Longer lists can quickly turn this part of the day into an extended photo session and create unnecessary pressure for you and your guests.If your timeline is more compact, several things happen at the same time or you would like to include more group combinations, we recommend adding a second shooter or additional team members. This allows one person to take care of settings, coordination or technical preparation while the rest of the team stays with you. We work with a trusted network of regular second shooters and can adapt the team to the needs of your wedding, with productions of up to six people possible.We’ll guide you through the photography and film portions of your timeline and coordinate them with your planner. The most important thing is not to schedule everything too tightly. A little breathing room gives us more variety and allows you to experience your day without feeling rushed.

Can we book you for events the day before or after?

What does full day coverage mean?

Full day coverage allows us to tell your wedding as a complete story, from the quiet moments of getting ready to the energy of the evening and everything in between.Rather than fitting your day into a tight schedule, it gives us the time to capture not only the key moments, but also the transitions, atmosphere and interactions that make the story feel complete.Our full day coverage includes up to 12 hours, which is more than enough for most weddings. If your timeline requires additional coverage, it can be extended up to a maximum of 14 hours.We’ll help you determine the right amount of coverage based on your timeline, so you have enough space for everything that matters without extending the day unnecessarily.

Question 7

Is 3–5 minutes enough for a highlight film?

Yes. Our highlight films are intentionally created as short, carefully curated stories rather than a chronological record of the entire day.Within these minutes, we combine the strongest moments, movement, atmosphere and sound into a film that brings you back to how your wedding felt.If a highlight film alone doesn’t feel like enough, we recommend adding your ceremony and speeches in full length. This allows you to experience these moments again without changing the character of your highlight film.For full-length ceremony and speech coverage, a video team of at least two filmmakers is required, meaning an additional second shooter needs to be booked. This allows us to cover multiple perspectives and ensure continuous recording while still capturing the rest of your wedding story.

Question 8

Does the highlight film include vows or speeches?

It includes the most meaningful and emotional moments of your day — and yes, this can include carefully chosen snippets from your vows or speeches.
We use words very intentionally. Not everything is included, but what is, is chosen for how it feels — and how it supports the story.
If spoken words are a central part of your day and you’d like more than just selected highlights, we recommend extending the film coverage. This can be done either through a dedicated ceremony and speech edit, or by working with a second filmmaker to allow for more depth and continuity.

What happens if one of you gets sick?

We plan for situations like this before they ever become a problem. As a photo & film team, we can cover across both disciplines and are supported by a trusted network of photographers and filmmakers we work with regularly.If one of us becomes unavailable, we can bring in a suitable replacement from our network while keeping the production and final editing within DIRECTEDART.Depending on the requirements of your wedding, we can also scale our team up to six people, giving us additional flexibility and security for larger productions.Our priority is always to ensure that your wedding is covered reliably and to the quality standards you booked us for.

Question 10

Why book a wedding photography & videography team?

Photography and film work best when they’re created with one shared vision. Instead of two separate teams working around each other, we plan every perspective together, creating a consistent visual language across your wedding photography and film.For larger or more complex celebrations, we can work as a four-person photo and film team, with two photographers and two filmmakers. This allows us to cover simultaneous moments, multiple perspectives, details and settings without constantly pulling you away from your guests.Behind the scenes, we coordinate timelines, locations, light and movement as one team. The result is a calmer experience on the day and a wedding story in which photography and film feel like they were always meant to belong together.

Question 11

Do you scout the location beforehand?

Whenever possible, yes. We scout the venue in advance to understand the light, architecture, surroundings and distances and to identify the best possibilities for photography and film before the wedding begins.For destination weddings, we usually scout after our arrival or on the day before the wedding. If an in-person visit isn’t possible, we prepare digitally using available imagery, maps and information from your venue and planner. You’re also welcome to share photos or videos with us beforehand.Either way, you don’t need to worry about knowing the best spots yourself. Finding the right light, perspectives and compositions in any environment is part of what we do.

Can we join you for the location scouting?

Absolutely. If timing allows, you’re welcome to join us for the location scouting. It can be a great opportunity to walk through the venue together, discuss the flow of the day and show us any places that are particularly meaningful to you.At the same time, there’s no need for you to be there. We’re happy to scout independently and coordinate everything relevant with your planner or venue, so you can focus on enjoying the days leading up to your wedding.

Can we send you inspiration or a moodboard?

Absolutely. In fact, we encourage you to share more than just wedding photography. Your moodboard can include colors, florals, fashion, interiors, art, music, textures, places or anything else that inspires you in everyday life. The more we understand your visual world, the better we can get a feeling for you and the atmosphere you want to create.A moodboard is not a binding style or shot list. We don’t recreate specific poses, images or edits, and your final photography and film will always be created in our DIRECTEDART style. They can consider your entire celebration, budget, logistics and vision to build a team that works beautifully together.We only recommend professionals whose work we genuinely trust.

We’re not used to being in front of the camera. Will you guide us?

Absolutely. Most of our couples aren’t used to being photographed or filmed, and you don’t need to know how to pose.Our approach combines calm direction with space for real moments to happen. We’ll guide you when it comes to movement, light, positioning and the little details that make an image feel effortless, while making sure it never feels like a performance.Especially during your couple session, you won’t be left wondering what to do. We create the framework, give you direction when you need it and let go when the moment is already happening naturally.The goal isn’t to make you look like someone else. It’s to create photographs and films that feel elevated and intentional, while still feeling unmistakably like you.You don’t need to be good in front of the camera. That’s our job.

Question 16

Do we need to provide meals for your photo & film team?

Yes. For half-day and full-day wedding coverage, we kindly ask you to provide a full meal and sufficient drinks for every member of our photo & film team.Ideally, we eat at the same time as you and your guests and have a place nearby. We don’t need to be seated at a guest table, but staying close to the celebration allows us to remain aware of what is happening around us.Weddings rarely follow a script. A spontaneous speech, an unexpected toast or one of those small in-between moments can happen at any time, and we want to be close enough to capture it.For longer wedding days, we also plan short breaks whenever the timeline allows. These are part of the booked coverage time and help our team stay focused and fully present throughout the day.Our recommendation: Please include our team in the catering and seating plan and let your planner or venue know how many photo & film team members will be joining you.

Can we choose the music for the film?

We’re always open to your suggestions.For our highlight films, we work with a mix of original audio from your day and carefully selected music that fits you and the feeling of your story. Sometimes this can also include well-known tracks - because for us, the emotional impact always comes first.Our priority is that the film feels true to you, not that it follows strict licensing rules.Sharing on platforms like YouTube is usually possible, even with non-licensed music. If you’re planning to use the film specifically for social media or commercial purposes, we recommend using licensed music.In those cases, we’re happy to guide you - but the responsibility for usage and posting lies with you.

Why don’t we see many of your wedding films on Instagram?

Our wedding films are created for our couples first, not for social media.Music is an essential part of our storytelling. Our priority is to create a film that reflects the atmosphere, emotion and energy of your wedding as closely as possible, rather than shaping the entire film around the limitations of a particular social platform.Because music rights and usage restrictions vary between platforms, many of our full wedding films are not suitable for publication on Instagram in their original form. You can therefore discover a larger selection of our work on our YouTube channel.Discover our Wedding Films on YouTubeSome films may not be publicly available at all. In these cases, our couples have chosen to keep their wedding private, which we always respect.For couples who would like content specifically created for social media, we also offer additional snippets and reels with appropriately licensed music.

Question 19

Do you work with a wedding photography shot list?

We don’t work from traditional shot lists. Being fully present and responding to people, light, movement and everything happening around us is an essential part of how we photograph and film a wedding.Before your wedding, we’ll talk through everything that is important to you, including key people, meaningful details, planned moments and personal wishes, so we know what deserves particular attention.You never need to give us a list of standard wedding photographs to capture. And while you’re always welcome to share inspiration, reference images are not treated as a checklist of poses or compositions to recreate.For group and family photos, however, a short list is very helpful. We recommend keeping it to a maximum of five combinations so this part of the day stays relaxed and doesn’t take you away from your celebration for too long.

Can our wedding photography & film remain private?

Absolutely. Privacy and discretion are an integral part of how we work. We offer four levels of confidentiality, allowing you to choose exactly how your wedding may be represented publicly.Level 1 · Selected Privacy +10% Specific people or groups of people will not appear recognisably in any of our publications.Level 2 · Anonymous Publication +20% No people will be shown recognisably or identifiably. Only details such as florals, décor, architecture, landscapes and other non-identifying imagery may be used. Your names or profiles will not be mentioned or linked.Level 3 · Complete Portfolio Privacy +40% Your photography and films will remain entirely outside our portfolio and marketing. We will not use the work on our website, social media, in advertising, publications, competitions or exhibitions.Level 4 · Full Confidentiality / NDA +50% For the highest level of discretion, neither your wedding nor our involvement will be publicly disclosed or referenced. This also includes appropriate confidentiality arrangements with second shooters, editors and other team members involved in the production.We recommend selecting your preferred privacy level before booking, so everything can be arranged accordingly from the beginning.

Question 21

What happens if our wedding gets postponed?

We understand that plans can change. If your wedding needs to be postponed, we’ll always first check whether we’re available for your new date.If we can accommodate the change, your booking can be moved to the new date. A rebooking fee of 15–25% of the agreed total applies, depending on how close to the wedding the postponement is.If we’re unavailable for the proposed new date, our cancellation terms apply.Our full Terms & Conditions are provided as part of the booking process. How do you protect and back up our wedding photos & films?

Your wedding cannot be repeated, which is why data security is an essential part of our professional responsibility.From the moment we capture your wedding, your files are protected through multiple layers of redundancy. Our professional cameras record simultaneously to two separate memory cards, creating an immediate backup while we’re still shooting.After your wedding, the complete material is transferred to multiple independent storage devices and kept redundantly throughout the editing and delivery process. Your finished photography is then delivered through a protected online gallery, with your films provided through our designated delivery platform.We invest in professional equipment, high-quality storage media and a carefully structured backup workflow because beautiful work is only valuable if it is also handled responsibly and protected reliably.

Question 23

Do you bring backup equipment to every wedding?

Absolutely. Redundancy is an essential part of our professional workflow. We bring backup cameras, lenses, batteries, memory cards and essential audio equipment to every wedding.For our digital coverage, we work with multiple professional camera bodies and record simultaneously to two memory cards whenever the camera system supports it. This allows us to continue working even if an individual piece of equipment fails.For film, we also work with multiple audio sources and recording solutions, particularly during moments such as ceremonies and speeches where sound cannot simply be recreated.Analog and Super 8 equipment naturally work differently and don’t offer the same technical redundancy as our digital systems. This is one of the reasons we use these formats intentionally alongside digital coverage.Preparation, redundancy and technical reliability are part of the responsibility you place in us when documenting a day that cannot be repeated.

Are Super 8 & analog photography right for our wedding?

Super 8 and analog photography bring something to a wedding that digital alone cannot fully recreate: texture, imperfection and the unmistakable feeling of a physical medium.For us, mixed media is not about using every format for everything. Different moments call for different mediums, and each medium remembers a moment differently. Some moments benefit from the precision of digital, while others come alive through 35mm photography, Super 8 or the immediacy of camcorder footage.But you don’t need to know which medium works best when. That’s our job. You can leave those creative decisions entirely to us. We choose intuitively and intentionally throughout your wedding, based on the moment, light, movement and atmosphere.Analog also comes with a certain degree of unpredictability. Unlike digital, film doesn’t offer the same immediate technical control or redundancy. Can you provide a full photo & film team for larger weddings?

Absolutely. For larger, multi-day or more complex celebrations, we can scale our production beyond our core photo & film duo and provide a dedicated team of 4–6 people.Depending on your wedding, this can include multiple photographers and filmmakers, allowing us to cover parallel preparations, multiple locations, guest perspectives, ceremony and speeches in full length, extensive setting and detail coverage, and different analog and digital formats without compromising the flow of the day.We work with a trusted network of photographers and filmmakers who know our approach and work alongside us regularly. Creative direction and the final photography and films remain under DIRECTEDART, ensuring one consistent visual language throughout the entire production.If you’re looking for comprehensive coverage, we’ll plan the appropriate team size and production together with you and your wedding planner, so you don’t have to determine the technical setup yourselves.

Question 26

Can we receive the raw footage, our ceremony and speeches in full, or additional moments from our wedding?

Accepted Answer

We completely understand wanting to keep every single moment captured from your wedding day. However, professional raw footage is very different from videos recorded on a smartphone or consumer camera, which is why it is not included in our standard film delivery.Our cameras record in professional formats such as ProRes RAW, BRAW and XAVC-I. A fully recorded ceremony alone can generate anywhere from approximately 300 GB to more than 1 TB of raw footage, even though the finished and processed version of that same recording might only be 2–5 GB. Over the course of an entire wedding day, this can easily add up to several terabytes of data.These files also don't contain a finished image or finished audio yet. We predominantly film in LOG or RAW profiles, meaning the footage initially appears flat, low in contrast and desaturated. It is only through professional color grading that the footage receives the final look and colors you know from our films.The final audio is also often recorded separately from the video itself. During your ceremony or speeches, for example, additional professional audio recorders capture sound independently in 32-bit float. These recordings then need to be backed up, organized, synchronized with the corresponding camera footage and professionally processed.Before the footage becomes something that can actually be viewed and enjoyed, large amounts of data need to be backed up and organized, video and audio files matched and synchronized, footage technically processed and sometimes converted, and both image and sound professionally finished. This preparation alone usually takes at least three full working days per wedding and can take considerably longer for more complex productions.These steps are an essential part of our filmmaking process and already carry our creative signature. For this reason, the complete preparation and delivery of additional material cannot be provided as an unpaid additional service.Would you like to receive a specific moment after your wedding?You are always welcome to ask us whether footage of a particular moment is available and to what extent. If the relevant recordings are sufficiently complete and meet our quality standards, we can prepare and export individual moments for you afterwards.It is important to keep in mind that during our standard coverage, we film specifically for the wedding film you have commissioned. We are not simultaneously creating an uninterrupted recording of every part of the day from a fixed perspective. Therefore, if only a highlight film was originally commissioned, we cannot guarantee afterwards that an entire ceremony, all speeches or other parts of the day were recorded continuously and in full.If there are specific parts of your wedding, such as your ceremony or speeches, that you would definitely like to receive in full, please let us know before your wedding. In this case, we can arrange for an additional videographer whose focus is specifically on creating these continuous recordings, while our regular film team remains free to capture your day creatively for your wedding film.If you decide after your wedding that you would like longer existing recordings to be additionally prepared, we can first check what footage is available. The complete technical preparation and delivery is €1,000 incl. VAT, provided the required footage is available in sufficient quality and completeness. This reflects the significant time, storage and post-production involved in reviewing and organizing the footage, synchronization, conversion, color grading, audio processing and final export.The release or media buyout of the complete raw footage is separate from this and is only possible if agreed upon before the wedding. Due to the considerable technical, time and storage requirements involved, this is calculated individually.All of these steps require a significant amount of time and resources and, at the same time, form an important part of our creative work and signature. We therefore hope you understand that releasing or additionally preparing footage is not simply a matter of exporting a few files, but a separate production service in itself.
